Tech Stuff
This section is where you will find how-to articles for any number of weird and interesting things I end up trying to do (and at least partially succeeding at doing) with various pieces of technology in my life. To be perfectly honest, this section is the main impetus for creating this site in the first place. There are a few things I've done for which there does not seem to be any tutorial available, and this would've been the perfect place for it.
Alas, here are some examples of things I've already forgotten how to do:
- I once set up a new Windows 7 install such that the tiny boot SSD had NTFS hard links to other drives for both user documents and program files so that my grandfather could just install things and have documents backed up by a RAID 1 array without actually knowing anything about the setup.
- There was one time when I was using my Mac and wanted to do something weirdly specific. I searched online, and every single response was "Gee, I really wish Mac OS X had this feature, but it doesn't." Then, I played around with key combinations and discovered that it actually does have this feature. It just takes pressing about four keys at once. I don't remember what I was trying to do now, though.
Wasn't reading all that about as interesting as hearing about someone else's dreams?
